Conditions to become a Gold member

Members who accumulate 30,000 qualifying miles or 27 qualifying segments will own a Gold card and enjoy equivalent benefits. The Gold Card is valid for 12 months from the qualified date. Learn more about Gold qualifying criteria and the Lotusmiles Program.

The following benefits for Vietnam Airlines’ Gold members are similar to those for SkyTeam's Elite card owners.

Benefits from Vietnam Airlines flights

Benefits for Gold members on VN-code flights operated by Vietnam Airlines.

Priority in aircraft seating:

• Priority on waiting lists at the airport;
• Priority in seat arrangement in case of flight exchange by Vietnam Airlines;
• Priority in empty seat selection when checking in at the airport;
• Get free advance seat selection when purchasing Business/Premium Economy/Economy Flex/Economy Classic tickets between reservation confirmation and 26 hours before flight time;
• Get a 30% discount on advance seat selection fee when purchasing Economy Lite/Economy Super Lite tickets;
• Get a free upgrade to Business Class if the member purchases an Economy or Premium Economy ticket, but when checking in, the seats of the class tickets are full, and Business Class seats are available (priority order applies);
• Get a free upgrade to Premium Economy Class if the member purchases an Economy class ticket that is eligible for mile earning but when checking in, the seats of the class are full and seats of Premium Economy class are available (priority order applies);
• Have a seat guarantee when purchasing tickets for Y class on international flights at least 72 hours before departure;
• Have a seat guarantee when purchasing tickets for Y, B Class on domestic flights between Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City at least 48 hours before departure time.

Notes:

• Vietnam Airlines' priority order is arranged based on actual passengers in each specific situation.
• Accumulated miles will be awarded based on the seat class of the ticket purchased.

Check-in priority:

• Check-in at SkyPriority counters;
• A kinship companion on the same flight using an award can check in at the SkyPriority counter;
• Priority in boarding with SkyPriority passengers (depending on airport availability).

Baggage benefits:

• Priority baggage SkyPriority tags;
• Get 01 additional piece of 23kg standard checked baggage;
• Carry 01 golf set for free under Vietnam Airlines’ baggage allowance (up to 23 kg, no size limit).

Use of Business Lounges: A Gold member can access a Business Lounge at an airport operated by Vietnam Airlines (regardless of the guest's ticket class).

Other offers:

• After each flight, the members will be credited with the miles corresponding to the itineraries and receive an additional 50% of the credited miles.
• The members will receive 1,500 bonus miles in celebration of birthdays.

Benefits from flights of SkyTeam airlines

The benefits for Gold members of Vietnam Airlines (equivalent to SkyTeam Elite card members) apply to code-shared flights numbered VN. For more details on priority services on flights operated by SkyTeam, please visit www.skyteam.com.

Priority in aircraft seating:

• Priority on waiting lists at the airport;
• Priority in empty seat selection when checking in at the airport for international flights.

Check-in priority:

• Check-in at SkyPriority counters (applicable to international flights);
• Priority boarding (applicable to international flights).

Baggage benefits: A Gold member can be awarded 01 additional piece or 10 kg of checked baggage for free.

Notes:

• Baggage weight and size standards follow the regulations of each airline in SkyTeam;
• For some flights numbered VN between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul operated by Korean Air (KE), Gold members get 1 piece of 32 kg with First/Business Class or Premium Economy tickets and 1 piece of 23 kg with Economy Class tickets free of charge;
• The baggage allowance does not apply to SkyTeam Elite members with Economy class tickets on KE-operated flights over the Pacific Ocean;
• The baggage allowance does not apply to flights within or between the US and Canada, the US Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico, or flights to/from Brazil operated by Delta Air Lines.

Other offers: When taking flights from SkyTeam airlines (except for Garuda Indonesia), the members will be credited with the miles corresponding to the itineraries and receive an additional 50% of the credited miles.

Benefits from non-SkyTeam partner airlines

With diverse cooperation programs, Gold members can enjoy additional offers from non-SkyTeam partner airlines when taking VN codeshare flights operated by partner airlines.
