Vietnam Airlines divides live animals into transportation groups as follows:

    AVI-01: All live animals with the exclusion of mammals; arthropods, insects, crustaceans (shrimp, crab); frogs; batrachians; oysters; clams, snails, mussels, mollusks, worms, fish, crocodiles, turtles, tortoise, other reptiles. No ventilation required, except big reptiles need ventilation and heating 18oC

    AVI-02: Large mammals weighing 50 kg or more; pigs; whales, ostriches etc. For safety reasons, Vietnam Airlines does not accept transportation of this group on passenger aircraft.

    AVI-03: Small and medium mammals weight under 50 kg (not including pigs), such as goats, sheep, monkeys, dogs, cats, birds, chickens, ducks, geese weighing from 100 grams or more. Ventilation required.

    AVI-04: Birds less than 100 grams; one day old chicks. High ventilation required

    AVI-05: Animals which can smell unpleasant such as civets, skunks and hyenas… For safety reasons, Vietnam Airlines does not accept transportation of this group on passenger aircraft.
