Members can buy bonus miles from the GLP Program as follows:

• Members can buy miles when needing extra miles to redeem an award ticket.
• Members can buy a maximum 30,000 miles a calendar year.
• Miles are sold in packages (each package is worth 1,000 miles).
• The member pays the fee for buying miles and taxes when receiving the award ticket. 
• Cost is US$0.025/ mile, including taxes and fees.

Notes:

• Paid miles are not refundable, are valid for claiming an award only, and are not considered as qualifying miles.
• The Purchasing Miles Form must be sent with Award Request Form.
• Price and other conditions may be changed without announcement.
• Additional conditions may be applied.

Example: When a member needs 2,300 miles to collect an award, the member must buy 3,000 miles. The member uses 2,300 miles to get the award; 700 miles will be added to the account but not used as qualifying miles.

Conditions for transfer miles:

• Both the giving and receiving person are the Golden Lotus Plus members.
• The transfer miles are equivalent to the miles that the recipient’s account lacks to claim a certain award
• Miles are transferred in package (each package worths 1,000 miles), and maximum 30,000 miles received /calendar year.
• Transfer fees are US$0.01/mile (including tax), and the administration fee is US$20/time. All fees are to be paid when the award ticket is collected (the recipient will be responsible for payment).

Notes:

• The Transferring Miles Form must have the signature of both recipient and the member wishing to transfer miles.
• The recipient must present membership card, ID or Passport of both recipient and the member when receiving the award ticket.
• The recipient pays the fee for receiving miles, administration fee and taxes when receiving the award ticket. 
• The transfer miles are non refundable, only valid for claiming awards, miles are for valid awards only.

Example about gifting miles between GLP members

Itinerary HAN-SGN-HAN 25,000 miles. A member has 23,000 miles and needs 1,700 miles to claim the award ticket. The member can receive maximum 2,000 miles to get award ticket from another GLP member. Excess miles (300 miles) will be added to the recipient’s account, but do not calculate as qualifying miles. The recipient has to pay the GLP Centre US$40, which consists of:

• Transfer fee (by miles): 2,000 miles x US$0.01 = US$20
• Administration Fee (1 time) US$20.
