E.g. 1 extra piece of baggage exceeds the weight and size limits, it will be subject to three fees: one for the extra bag, one for the weight limit, and one for the size restrictions. Fees are charged for each additional bag, each way.

Free baggage allowance and Extra Baggage Charges on itineraries involving other airlines

In compliance with the new baggage policy issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), free baggage allowance and extra baggage charges for tickets issued on or after 1 April 2011 which involve one or more flights provided by other airlines will be based on a new method. Please contact your travel agent or local reservations office for more details.

Special Bagggage Cancellation Fees applied on/after 01Apr2013
The penalty fee shall be applied if the passengers cancel or refund Special baggage after booking and payment. The fee is as follows:

Cancellation beyond 24 hours before flight: Charge 10% of the fare paid for the Special baggage.
Cancellation within 24 hours before flight or after flight: Charge 50% of the fare paid for the Special baggage.

Snow skiing equipment	Weight concept: Normal excess baggage charges apply if total weight of normal checked baggage and snow skiing equipment is over the free checked baggage allowance. Piece concept: 25% of the normal excess baggage charges apply if over the free checked baggage allowance.
Surfboard	Normal excess baggage charges apply
Scuba diving equipment	Free of charge if total weight is not more than 20kg (weight concept) or for one golf bag per passenger (piece concept). If over the free baggage allowance normal excess baggage charges apply.

Special Service Charges

Special service charges on/after 01 April 2013

Oxygen for medical use on board (OXYG)	The passenger who uses oxygen service on board pays the fare as normal passengers. Charges: The fee for using portable oxygen units on board: For VN domestic sector: VND2,000,000 per one unit (net fare) For international sector: USD200 per one unit. The fee for seat occupied by portable oxygen unit: Equal to the highest applicable adult fare for each seat. Escort of OXYG pays the fare as normal passengers. Stretcher service on board (STCR)	The passenger who uses stretcher service on board pays the fare as normal passengers. Charges: Equal to 6 times of the highest applicable adult fares. Escort of STCR pays the fare as normal passengers.	Accompanied cabin crew service provided on the request
Oxygen and stretcher service on board (STCR/OXYG)	The passenger who uses the oxygen and stretcher service on board pay the fare as normal passengers. Special Service Refund/Cancellation Fees
The penalty fee shall be applied if the passengers cancel or refund Special Service after booking and payment. The fee is as follows:

Cancellation/refund beyond 24 hours before flight: Charge 10% of the fare paid for the Special Service.
Cancellation/refund within 24 hours before flight or after flight: Charge 50% of the fare paid for the Special Service.

Blind passenger service	Normal fare is applied. BLND passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition. The seeing-eye dog (if any) for BLND passenger shall be carried as AVIH and free of charge.
Over-weight passenger	Normal fare is applied for all requested seats.
Pregnant passenger service	Normal fare is applied.
Leg-rest service	Normal fare is applied for all requested seats. Passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition.
Wheelchair for Ramp	Pasenger’s wheelchair (if any) shall be carried free of charge
Wheelchair for Step	Passenger’s wheelchair (if any) shall be carried free of charge
Wheelchair for Cabin	Passenger’s wheelchair (if any) shall be carried free of charge. Passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition
MEDA	Normal fare is applied. Passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition
Stretcher services on board (STCR)	A four times as the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments fee is applied. Infant and children who request the STCR is applied a simillar fee to adults. Escort of STCR passenger pays for his ticket as other passenger. Passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition
Oxygen services on board (OXYG)	The highest one-year competitive ticket fare shall be applied for 1 seat occupied by OXYG passenger and other seats by the portable oxygen. In addition, OXYG passenger has to be charged 150USD for fee of using each portable oxygen on board. Escort of OXYG passenger pays for his ticket as other passenger. Passenger who request the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition
Stretcher and oxygen services on board (STCR/OXYG)	Passenger who requested both OXYG and STCR services will be charged VN’s highest one-year competitive ticket fare including: four times ticket fare for STCR, ticket fare for the seats required for the oxygen. Besides, an additional 150USD for fee will be applied for using each portable oxygen on board. Charges for children or infant using stretcher and oxygen applied as adult STCR cases. Escort of OXYG and STCR passenger pays for his/her ticket as other passengers. Passenger who requests the accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for the requested segments in addition.
Infant (INF): Passenger from 14 days up to 2 years old	Ticket fare for infant accompanied by parent/guardian authorized person is applied. If an adult escorts two infants: From the second INF, each INF shall be charged an applicable fare for children Ticket fare for cabin crew who accompanies INF: 50% of an adult one-year applicable one-year ticket fare is applied.
Accompanied passenger with INF and CHD	A parent/guardian authorized person escorts 01 INF and 02 CHD under 6 years old: Pay additional fee for the cabin crew accompanying 01 CHD between 2 CHD similar to the fee for cabin crew accompanying UM at the age with this CHD. A parent/guardian authorized person escorts 02 INF and 01 CHD under 6 years old: From the second INF shall be charged an applicable fare for children Ticket fare for cabin crew who accompanies INF above: 50% of an adult one-year applicable one-year ticket fare is applied. A parent/guardian authorized person escorts 02 INF and 02 CHD under 6 years old: From the second INF shall be charged an applicable fare for children Ticket fare for cabin crew who accompanies INF above: 50% of an adult one-year applicable one-year ticket fare is applied. Ticket fare for cabin crew who accompanies CHD above as the same fare for cabin crew who accompanies CHD at the same age.
UM aged between 2 and under 4 years	Ticket fare for CHD accompanied by parent/guardian authorized person is applied . Accompanied cabin crew shall be charged the highest one year competitive fare for adult. The additional charge for taking care of UM (if any), if stopover time exceeding 6 hours at stopover station in accordance with Vietnam Airlines regulations.
UM aged between 4 and under 6 years	Ticket fare for children accompanied by adult at the same age is applied. Ticket fare for cabin crew who accompanies UM: 50 % of an adult applicable one-year ticket fare is applied. The additional charge for taking care of UM (if any), if stopover time exceeding 6 hours at stopover station in accordance with Vietnam Airlines regulations.
UM aged between 6 and under 12 years	Ticket fare for children accompanied by adult at the same age is applied. The additional charge for taking care of UM (if any), if stopover time exceeding 6 hours at stopover station in accordance with Vietnam Airlines regulations.
UM aged between 12 and under 15 years	Ticket fare for ADL passenger is applied. The additional charge for taking care of UM (if any) in case stopover time exceeding 6 hours at stopover station under Vietnam Airlines regulations.
