Vietnam Airlines Brings a Special Gift to 19-8 Primary School for the New Academic Year

The first day of school is always a sacred moment for every student, when the resounding sound of the drum marks the start of a new academic year filled with fresh hopes and aspirations. To celebrate this meaningful occasion, Vietnam Airlines will present a special gift to teachers and students of 19-8 Primary School (Minh Thanh Commune, Tuyen Quang Province): a new library and warm blankets — a heartfelt gesture of care and sharing with children in upland areas.

By gifting the library and blankets on this special day, Vietnam Airlines aims to spread joy and excitement at the start of the school year, while reaffirming its long-term commitment to supporting education. Every book opened will become a new gateway to knowledge, and every blanket will carry the warmth of compassion from Vietnam Airlines — nurturing a generation of confident, resilient, and aspiring young minds.

The image of a newly built, colorful, and welcoming library taking shape promises to bring smiles and surprises to the students of 19-8 Primary School on their opening day.

This year’s initiative continues Vietnam Airlines’ series of social responsibility activities aimed at promoting sustainable education and improving learning conditions for students in remote areas. Over the past two years, the airline has successfully implemented the “Green Library” program in several mountainous provinces. In 2023, the first library was inaugurated at Doan Ket Primary and Secondary School (Doan Ket Commune, Lang Son Province), followed by another at Muong Cha Town Secondary School (Dien Bien Province) in 2024. These projects have created friendly, modern learning spaces while reinforcing Vietnam Airlines’ pioneering role in supporting local communities.

For 2025, the program will continue in Tuyen Quang Province, one of the areas severely affected by Typhoon Yagi in 2024. After on-site assessments and coordination with the Youth Union of the Hanoi Police Department, Vietnam Airlines selected 19-8 Primary School (Minh Thanh Commune) as the next destination. The school, with a proud history and proximity to several historical landmarks, still faces many infrastructural challenges. Its old library has deteriorated — with broken furniture, outdated shelves, and poor lighting conditions. The school plans to allocate an 83-square-meter room in a newly inaugurated two-story building to serve as the new library, and has expressed hope for Vietnam Airlines’ support in initial setup and furnishing.

The construction of the new library, scheduled for August–September 2025, is expected to provide students in mountainous regions with a better learning environment, inspire a love for reading, and contribute to developing their self-study ability and overall growth.
