Hanoi, July 21, 2025 – Due to the impact of Typhoon Wipha (Typhoon No. 3) and the official announcement of a temporary closure of Van Don (Quang Ninh) and Cat Bi (Hai Phong) airports from 11:00 PM on July 21 to 12:00 PM on July 22, Vietnam Airlines will adjust its flight schedule accordingly to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.

At Van Don Airport, flights VN1286 and VN1287 between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don will be rescheduled, with expected departure and arrival times after 2:00 PM on July 22.

At Cat Bi Airport on July 22, flights VN1176 and VN1177 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, as well as VN1670 and VN1671 between Da Nang and Hai Phong, will have adjusted departure and arrival times. These flights are expected to operate at Cat Bi after 2:00 PM. Other flights scheduled for later in the day are expected to operate as planned.

At Tho Xuan Airport on July 22, flights VN1276, VN1277, VN7264, and VN7265 between Ho Chi Minh City and Tho Xuan will be operated earlier, with expected takeoff and landing before 11:00 AM. Meanwhile, flights VN1278, VN1279, VN7268, VN7269, VN7276, and VN7277 on the same day will be canceled.

At Noi Bai Airport, Vietnam Airlines continues to closely monitor weather conditions tonight and tomorrow morning to determine an appropriate operational plan.

In addition, many other domestic and international flights on July 22 may experience delays or disruptions due to the impact of Typhoon Wipha.

Vietnam Airlines Group advises passengers to fasten their seat belts throughout the flight, especially under adverse weather conditions. Keeping seat belts fastened at all times, even when the seat belt sign is off, is a vital safety precaution to reduce the risk of injury during unexpected turbulence.
